Sometimes a little bit of customization can go a long
way. This stylish monogrammed casserole dish is a great way to make sure
that you always come home with your dish from your next dinner party or
Halloween shindig. It also makes a beautiful handmade gift. And you can
use a dish you already own at home!
Supplies:
- HP Bright White Inkjet Paper
- HP Officejet Pro 8600 AiO Printer + HP Original Ink
- Glassed casserole dish
- Etching cream
- Paint brush
- Vinyl with adhesive back
- Xacto Knife
Step 1
Using your computer find a simple font style you
like and enlarge the size to fit the size of your casserole dish. I used
150pt size for the casserole and 400pt for the glass serving tray.
Cut a piece of vinyl to 8 1/2” X 11” and print the
monogram letter on the vinyl. If the letter is not symmetrical you
must print the letter in reverse. Allow the ink to dry before
proceeding.
Step 2
Using a sharp Xacto knife, carefully cut out the monogram letter. This will become your stencil.
Step 3
Place the sticky side of the vinyl on the side of the casserole dish or bottom of a glass tray.
Step 4
Following manufacturer’s instructions, apply
etching cream to the stencil you created. Apply liberally and spread it
out to cover the whole area.
Step 5
Once you’re done painting on the etching cream,
follow the manufacturer’s directions for removing the stencil and
rinsing the cream off.
Step 6
In just a few simple steps you can have a beautifully monogrammed serving tray or casserole dish for your next dinner party!
